Novel muesli topping: Linseed Meal

As you have probably guessed, I am obsessed with breakfast! There is nothing better than starting the day with good food to give you lots of energy for the day ahead and make you feel great in general :) I recently discovered a great topping to add to my usual muesli: it’s called linseed meal (or also known as flax seed).

What is it?

It is a food and fibre crop that is grown in cooler regions of the world. You can use linseed as a topping over muesli or cereal (like I did) or you can add it to breads, biscuit or muffin recipes. You can also add it to a delicious smoothie :)

Why is it good for you?

Linseed is a rich source of protein. Proteins are one of the building blocks of body tissue and can also serve as a fuel source. Food high in protein fills you up quickly so adding a bit of linseed to your muesli is a great way to keep you feel nice and full for the morning.
